A HUNDRED LITTLE FLAMES BY - PREETI SHENOY

Review on the Book: A Hundred Little Flames

I read this book in the month of August 2018, and the book was originally published in 2017. I think it took me not more than a week to complete it. Preeti Shenoy an Indian author particularly from South India wrote this wonderful book.

She writes contemporary fiction, her writing style is simple, direct, positive and uplifting. The book is a year old for my brain, but its plot is still refreshing. I urge south Indians to read this book (for those who haven’t) because u can very much to relate yourself with the story. Any story can turn out interesting if you can relate yourself with the protagonist in the story.

The young generation today are NETHOLIC. AYAN (26-year-old) the main character in the story is a guy similar to us. Some problems in the office and monotonous life makes Ayan leave the buzzing city life and makes him live with his old grandfather GOPAL SHANKER.

This book talks a lot on India and its charming culture. This book is a must for the Indians and specially the south Indians as it contains the very south Indian flavor.

You hear many local and familiar terms which make this novel beautiful the whole novel is set amidst the Beautiful GOD’S own country Kerala. There is massive use of Imagery specially on green fields, huge coconut trees.

The beauty in this book is, that it doesn’t have specific reading category. People of all age groups would love it, you have romance, you got mystery, anything you name it! This novel is focused on love, romance but not as you know it.

Love is just an abstract. Love for Ayan and is very much related to lust. But it carries a total different idea for GOPAL SHANKER. Yes, the long-forgotten love story of Gopal is the main plot of this story. Ayan is greatly impressed by this, he tries to unite his gandpa, with the lady Gopal once loved.

You’ll learn how pure love was back then. You’ll learn to differentiate between the common infatuation and the intangible love. Then there is a twist. We learn a lot from this novel. Ayan is against his father who insists on admitting Gopal to an old age home. There is a sad yet heart touching twist at the end of the story. All these twists and turns are greatly employed in this book without spoiling or deviating from the main plot.I’d recommend you to read this book.

HERE'S WHERE YOU CAN BUY IT
My write-up on this may seem a spoiler, but believe me, this book’s got even more than what I’ve written!!!
